About Dr. Scott Martin
Dr. Scott Martin began his career in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2000, inspired by a close friend and his own positive experiences with acupuncture. After discovering that he could pursue a full degree in TCM, he embarked on a path that felt like a clear answer to his life's purpose. He completed an Advanced Diploma of TCM at the Sydney Institute of TCM and, in 2006, furthered his studies at a major hospital in Nanchang, Jiangsu Province, China. There, he witnessed firsthand the power of TCM, particularly in stroke and cardiac wards, where he saw patients make remarkable recoveries with the help of acupuncture and herbal treatments.
Scott is deeply grateful for the wisdom of the TCM masters who have paved the way for modern practitioners. He often says, “Though I’m not smart enough to invent acupuncture, I’m smart enough to learn from those who did.” His mentor, Daniel Deng, greatly influenced his approach to patient care, emphasizing the importance of making patients feel better as quickly as possible. Scott embodies this philosophy in his practice, always striving for fast, effective results.
When national registration for TCM practitioners was introduced in 2011, Dr. Scott completed his Master’s degree at the University of Western Sydney to ensure he met the highest standards of qualification. This program integrated TCM with modern, evidence-based medical practice, allowing him to balance the strengths of both traditional and contemporary medicine.
Dr. Scott opened his practice in 2007 in the Whitsundays, quickly growing his client base. Within months, he needed a larger space to accommodate his busy schedule, eventually settling in Mackay. His reputation for delivering exceptional care led to a thriving practice, where he sees a wide variety of patients daily. His dedication to patient well-being and his ability to foster a welcoming, comfortable environment have made him one of the most successful solo TCM practitioners in the country.
Scott’s passion for helping people is evident in everything he does. He’s committed to ensuring every patient leaves his clinic feeling better and looking forward to their next visit.
